Upon entering the event the team captain will be issued an event discount code to purchase extra TT-02R spare parts, kits, spec tires, spec bodies, spec ESC to use for testing leading up to the event.
Car assembly Rules:
1. You may only use the wing supplied with your body of choice, no other wings or wing mounts allowed.
2. Body must be cut to trim lines.
3. Event Tire Limits: Teams are limited to 4 total sets of tires for the entire event. A. The included Tamiya tire and wheel from the kit. B. The pre-mount GT Spec tire set, included with the team entry. C. Each team may purchase 2 additional sets of GT Spec tires at the event. Note: All tires will be tagged in TECH.
4. Kit must be built per instructions and setting up chassis guide with few exceptions (see exceptions section)
5. You MAY NOT omit parts or screws. If the instructions call for a part to be put in and assembled, then you must use that part or screw with your car. Shocks may be built using any of the pistons and spacers included in the kit specifically for the shocks.
6. Kit screw hardware must be used, no light-weight hardware or alternate hardware. Shortening the battery wires from the ESC is not allowed. The male and female plugs between motor and ESC must be used and shortening wires on either side is not allowed.
7. Teams must provide tools, batteries, servo (any), transponder, and radio system (any).
8. Only Tamiya grease/oils included in kit may be used. No outside oils, greases, lubricants, may be used.
9. Only kit supplied shock springs may be used.
10. The included spur(s) (68T or 64T, your choice) & pinion (27T) must be used.
11. Saucing of tires is allowed, but no other modification of tire or wheels are allowed.
12. Comm drops, oil drops, motor break in, and any other form of motor mods is forbidden. Motor must be installed and raced EXACTLY as it comes out of the box.
13. No additional hop ups or parts may be added or used.
Build exceptions:
- Heavy duty servo-saver or non-servo saver arm may be used, any brand.
- ONE 30mm fan may be used.
- The plastic motor cover/fan may be omitted (plastic tree D, parts 7 & 8)
- Either ackerman hole on the steering knuckle may be used.
- The receiver ‘case’ may or may not be used (Step 31, parts D4 and D5).
- Shocks may be mounted to either hole on shock towers.
- Any number of spacers included in the kit may be used to adjust spring tension (Step 24 & 25).
- Front toe angle can be set to your liking (Step 27).
- Receiver can be mounted on chassis or on top of servo.
- If a shorty battery is used, a foam block may be fixed to the chassis to keep battery from moving. Battery may be mounted forward, rearward or middle, up to you.
- Sponge tape (Step 28) and caution sticker (Step 36) need not be applied.
- On/off switch may be attached to ESC or taped anywhere on the chassis.
- Antenna mount (Step 31, part D12) may be omitted.
Section 6: Race Rules & Procedures
- As stated above driver stand and marshalling positions will be selected at random and used for the duration of the event
- Battery packs: Any ROAR approved 2s LiPo or LiHV which fits in the chassis compartment is legal.
Note: Square shaped and rounded stick packs fit the TT-02R. MUST use a white, red, or black DEANS connector on your battery. No direct wiring from ESC to battery (straight wire to bullet into battery) is allowed. Bullet to deans to deans to esc must be used.
- The body must be painted using traditional hobby polycarbonate paint. Glow in the dark paint is not permitted.
- All teams must begin and end the race with their original body set and must use it for the entire race! Should a body be damaged beyond repair and need a complete replacement, that team will receive a 50 lap penalty. Replacement body must be from the approved list.
- All teams must use the same car for the entire event. Should a car need repair, a replacement car is not allowed. A damaged car must be repaired. For example, a broken shock must be repaired, Replacing a broken shock with a preassembled shock is not allowed. Should a chassis need repair, the entire chassis must be replaced and the car built from chassis up. It is up to each team to bring spare parts. We will do our best to have spare parts available trackside or in the hobby shop. Should a motor need replacement, the team must ask the race director for a new motor. ALL MOTORS WILL BE MARKED, YOU MAY NOT USE YOUR OWN MOTOR. Same applies for the ESC.
- Headlights/taillights/chassis lights are optional. None of the bodies have light buckets, so lights are up to you. The second half of the race will be run in the dark with minimal ambient lighting. Teams may choose to light their cars in any way EXCEPT in a manner which is obstructive to other teams. Lights must be powered by the battery powering the ESC. Race director has final say, get your lights approved ahead of time.
- Teams must consist of a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 5 members.
- Driver changes may only occur during pit stops. Car must be off the track during a driver change. Only 1 member of each team allowed on driver’s stand at any time, this includes the access ramp. Furthermore, team members not currently driving may not interfere with the active team member. For example, the active driver may not hand the radio control to a teammate on or in front of the driver’s stand for a radio adjustment. Any/each violation of this rule will incur a 5 lap penalty. Driver changes are as follows: Active driver must WALK and EXIT off the stand completely, hand the radio to the next driver, and new driver must WALK up the ramp and continue driving. 2 members from the same team on any portion of the driver’s stand at the same time will incur a 5 lap penalty.
- The only exception to the above rule (only one person on the stand at a time) is for wheelchair drivers. In this case, a teammate may assist the driver onto or off the driver’s stand, but the driver exchange must take place the same way. If a team has one or more members using a wheelchair, they will automatically be given the accessible driving spot on the drivers stand and the matching team number.
- Teams are encouraged to help each other out. However, there is to be no “crossing-over” or “floating” between different teams during the event.
- Should a team member leave the event for any reason, substitutes are not allowed. If a team falls below the minimum of 3 members and cannot fulfill marshalling duties, that team will be disqualified (no refunds). All 5 team members are not required to help build or drive, but must participate at some point in some manner whether it is build, marshalling, pitting, or driving. There is no time limit or limit on how many ‘turns’ any one driver takes.
- No battery quick change systems and/or “fixed in place” battery connectors allowed. All battery changes in the pits must involve the act of plugging and unplugging the battery from the speed control.
- Personal MyLaps/AMB transponder must be used. (No hand-out transponders will be provided) Should your transponder fail or fall out of the car, it is the team’s responsibility to correct the problem. The suggested transponder is the Mylaps 2 wire RC4 Hybrid. Note: The Race director will not add missed laps to your team.
- Turn Marshalling: Turn marshalling is required. Odd number teams must marshall at their assigned spot the first half of the hour (I.E. 1pm to 1:30pm), and even number teams must marshall at their assigned spot the second half of the hour (I.E 1:30pm to 2:00pm). If your team’s marshall spot is empty at any time, the race director will not count your laps for that duration. When marshalling it’s good sportsmanship to help a fellow team if they crash in your vicinity.
- Full Course Yellow Flags: Full course yellow flags may occur during the race. Pit lane is open. Cars on track may not make passes on track or pass the safety car.
- All cars must finish the 12 hour race in order to be counted for final standings. I.E. Your car must complete the final lap at the 12 hour mark to be counted for your final timed position.
- All pit stops must take place in the assigned pit lane/area. All repairs must be done off the track. It is not the responsibility of a turn marshall to repair a broken car. Should a car come off the track for repairs, it must re-enter the race from pit lane.
- 2 way radios between driver and teammates is allowed.
- The Race Director has the final say over any rules interpretation.
